TITANIUM Unmatched Price/Performance
Engineered specifically for high end applications, the patented TITANIUM database engine delivers split-second query response times under the most demanding circumstances. Its unique architecture thrives under pressure, easily managing real world complexity. In fact, as database size and complexity grow, TITANIUM's performance advantage dramatically increases over other database technology. Furthermore, TITANIUM is highly resource efficient, powering extremely ambitious applications on inexpensive hardware, while other database products rely on costly machines to compensate for their weaknesses.

TITANIUM Multi-Model Architecture
The TITANIUM multi-model database engine combines the strengths of the object-oriented, relational, and navigational data models while avoiding the limitations and compromises inherent in single-model and hybrid products. Only TITANIUM allows simultaneous use of all three data models, providing the developer with the flexibility to choose the most appropriate model for each part of an application.

With TITANIUM's object-oriented and navigational models, developers can easily and naturally manage complex objects and data relationships. The TITANIUM SQL interface offers users and developers the familiarity of the relational model while providing simpler, faster SQL queries than most other relational databases. In addition, because TITANIUM's interfaces are standard, no special training is required for either developers or end users.

TITANIUM Features

Simplified Complex Database Schemas
TITANIUM's DPA technology completely eliminates inefficient intersect tables, redundant keys, and joins by directly supporting in the physical layer all relationship types, including one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-many, recursive, and n-ary, in all combinations. In contrast, to support many-to-many relationships, relational databases require at least two time-consuming join operations for the simplest of these queries.

TITANIUM's unique ability to simplify complex database schemas allows multiple table queries to be performed in a fraction of the time, with a fraction of the hardware requirements since hard disk operations are dramatically reduced.

ODMG C++ Class Library
Based on the Object Data Management Group (ODMG)standard, the TITANIUM C++ Class Library enables TITANIUM to be used as a pure object-oriented database. Developers of complex C++ applications are able to store and retrieve persistent objects quickly and reliably with TITANIUM's DPA technology.

SQL Relational Integration
TITANIUM's SQL Access Manager provides a comprehensive table-based relational interface with read/write capabilities, SQL catalog, stored procedure functions. Tools include SQL schema definition and interactive SQL.

Stored Procedures and Triggers
TITANIUM's stored procedures technology allows developers to embed compiled 'C' programs into the database server. 'C' stored procedures provide optimum flexibility and 32-bit performance while noticeably reducing network traffic. Triggers integrate TITANIUM's stored procedure technology into SQL for transparent enforcement of business rules.

Windows Integration
TITANIUM melds seamlessly into the Windows NT and 2000 environments by running as a service, as well as providing direct support for UNICODE and Performance Monitor.

Zero Administration
TITANIUM requires little or no administration from outside the embedded application. Online backup, validation, user management and other facilities can be fully integrated into applications allowing transparent access to these powerful capabilities using an interface that is application appropriate.

Bullet-Proof Reliability and Data Integrity
TITANIUM is designed for mission-critical OLTP applications. In addition to advanced features such as nested transactions and two-phase commit, TITANIUM is fully fault-tolerant. If the database server crashes due to power failure, TITANIUM instantly recovers to the previous checkpoint, without downtime or user intervention. Users are back on-line in a matter of seconds without loss of data. Features such as online backup and validation ensure that TITANIUM is continuously available.

Scalability and Portability
TITANIUM is scalable from DOS or Windows PCs with as little as 640K of RAM to large UNIX multi-processor systems. 32-bit code and use of multiple threads and processes enables TITANIUM to take full advantage of available hardware. Because the database server can be comfortably run with as little as 400K of RAM, TITANIUM offers peak performance in situations where efficiency is essential.

TITANIUM API calls are identical across all operating systems, allowing developers to migrate applications without code changes. Since single-user versions of TITANIUM support multiple-user contexts, multi-user application development can be accomplished on a stand-alone workstation.

Thin-Client/Server Centric Computing
TITANIUM's shared memory interface provides remarkable fast database access for server-centric applications. Thin clients can access data and procedures directly on the server to avoid client/server bottlenecks.

TITANIUM supports industry standards, including:

ODMG
ODBC
ANSI SQL
XML
